Thank you for your interest in fostering! We want everyone who applies to foster for Bella's Bully Buddies to understand what the commitment is. Please review the article about bringing a new dog home. We ask every foster family to complete a "Two Week Shutdown" following the instructions in the article. We can always provide help introducing your dog to a new foster dog once the Two Week Shutdown is completed if you do not have someone to help you do this safely or to your comfort level.
We ask that anyone who fosters is willing to attend an informal training class held by the rescue at least once a month. If we determine that the dog needs a formal obedience class prior to adoption, we ask that you are willing to commit to that as well. Everyone is encouraged to take a basic obedience class with one of our professional training partners at no cost to the foster family other than the commitment to attend class and to do 20 minutes of homework each day. If you prefer to foster puppies, then the training commitment is to attend puppy play group weekly on Sunday evenings (well behaved children are welcome to these classes as they can help to socialize the other puppies in the class).
